Import Laden Container yard Under Construction

The delivery of imported cargo from private inland container depots (ICD) has created a new gateway in the business of private ICD of Bangladesh. Initially the customs authority has permitted delivery of 9 items or categories of cargo to the consignees directly from the private ICDs.

Vertex off-dock Logistic Services Ltd is one of the ICDs to operate service of import laden containers at its yard in addition to empty container storage and CFS (Container Freight Station) services. Therefore, the management has introduced a one stop service for the valued customers according to their need and demand. The customers will have 3 (three) type of services comprising 1) Import container handling and cargo de-stuffing, 2) Empty container handling and storage and 3) Export cargo storing / stuffing under the said one stop service module.

In this regard, a yard is under construction to support handling of import loaded container which is expected to be completed by mid of February’09. It will be suitable for safe handling of import laden containers also the storage capacity of the facility will be increased more than before which will enhance the overall service productivity significantly
